Today's message is a need you to think about it type of message. This may not be a popular message because who wants to look at themselves? Who is ready to admit they may have done these things to others? The purpose of this message, as are most, is to self-reflect, to wear the shoes of the other person, so to speak.
Allow people to process what they are going through in their time. Do not rush people in their processing based on your needs. Because you need something, they must forget what they are going through.
Be compassionate of people's needs. Showing compassion will not kill you; however, a lack of empathy can destroy your relationship with a person.
Stop being manipulative to others or laying a "guilt trip" to get what you want. Not only is it rude, but it is also selfish.
Being a shoulder for someone can be challenging. But how often has someone shared this position with you?
Being there physically does not equate to being there emotionally and mentally. You can stand in a room and still offer nothing.
Of course, we all would say we do not do these things; we are the best person in the world. How about your parents, siblings, friends, family, or spouse? How about God? What would they say? What have your actions shown them? Would anyone say you have done any of the above-listed things?
Well, have a seat in front of the mirror and ask yourself.
**Friendly reminder, we are in November; let's not forget to select one day you will fast from 8-12 noon. Also, please do not forget to save. This is our financial fast, and faith without work is dead. Amen? Amen!
